Heather H. Yeung joined the University of Dundee in 2017 as Lecturer in English and Creative Writing Practice and Study. Prior to this, she was Assistant Professor in Literature at Bilkent University, Turkey, where she retains an honorary research position. She has taught in the Department of English Studies at Durham University, where she completed a PhD in contemporary poetry and poetics, and has also worked with Studio Alec Finlay & the National Trust, The Memory Network (University of Roehampton), and W.A.L.K. (University of Sunderland).
ResearchHeather's academic work takes into account Anglophone twentieth and twenty-first century poetry and poetics and literary theory, with a strong comparative research interest in global literatures and the plastic arts. Extending into her creative practice, Heather is particularly interested in poetry’s material status as a textual and verbal art form; creative and critical work in literature and the wider arts which sits at the intersection of forms, media, and disciplines; and literature which works in productive dialogue with the natural sciences.
