The Arts & Humanities Research Institute (AHRI) is based in the School of Humanities at the University of Dundee. Founded in 2009, the AHRI promotes the School’s research mission and the work of humanities researchers. Its activity is overseen by the School Research & Knowledge Exchange Committee.
AHRI core mission:
- To support research excellence in arts and humanities.
- To build bridges between disciplines within and beyond arts and humanities.
- To promote partnership-based research with civil society and industry.
- To create a world-class environment for research postgraduates to enable them to become leaders in their fields.
The AHRI houses five research centres and is a member of several other centres or research clusters shared with other HEIs. It is also a member of the Consortium of Institutes of Advanced Studies, and of the Scottish Graduate School for Arts & Humanities (SGSAH) which offers AHRC funding for doctoral research.
