Our Masters Courses

We offer a wide range of specialist taught postgraduate degrees. Our degrees are MLitt (Master of Letters), and can be taken either full-time (1 year) or part-time (2 years). Some of our students are taking a course as PhD preparation, others for career development, and some for general interest.

MLitt in Comics and Graphic Novels

Our unique MLitt in Comics and Graphic Novels examines comics from the point of view of critical analysis (in terms of genre, style, formal properties and history) and also provides training in the creative aspects of comics production.

The MLitt in Film Studies will expand your appreciation of the medium in terms of its history, formal properties, and its relationships with other art forms. There is a particular focus on authorship and adaptation, as well as the transition from script to screen, drawing on an extensive collection of unpublished script material.
