Generous donation of food bank supplies from Humanities staff

Many thanks to all the School of Humanities staff who very kindly donated items for a Dundee foodbank recently. Sarah Conway in the School Office coordinated the donations and delivered the boxes on behalf of the School.   Dundee foodbank provides emergency food relief to individuals, couples and families experiencing hardship throughout the city of Dundee and its surrounding area. In 2018 they were able to assist over 9,500 people with a non-perishable food provision and they are currently feeding 200 people per week.   Thank you so much for your help in supporting this cause.    ...

Newly published Languages Evaluation Report co-authored by Marion Sporing

A newly published evaluation report has been co-authored by Marion Spöring, Senior Lecturer in Languages and European Studies here at the University of Dundee.  Working Together for Languages is an evaluation report considering four collaborative language promotional initiatives, Business Brunches, Language linking Global Thinking, and Word Wizard. Running from 2014-2017, these initiatives were collaborative efforts to promote languages and language learning in schools. Dundee ranked among UK's top 5 for student satisfaction

The University of Dundee has been ranked 4th among UK universities for overall student satisfaction in the 2019 National Student Survey (NSS). The University recorded overall satisfaction of 90%, up 2% on the 2018 result and well above the sector average of 84%, and was ranked 2nd in Scotland. Our Humanities subjects also recorded good results in this year's survey, with History and Creative Writing ranking top in Scotland and within the top 20 in the UK for overall student satisfaction, along with English and Iberian (Spanish) studies also ranking in the top 20 in the UK.  The National Student Survey...

Dundee wins Higher Educational Institution of the Year award

The University of Dundee has been named Scotland’s top university at The Herald Higher Education Awards. Dundee took the top prize, Higher Educational Institution of the Year, at the ceremony in Glasgow last night and also walked away with a further four awards recognising impact of staff and students.
