Pabay: An Island Odyssey - Scotland's History Festival

Chris Whatley, Professor of Scottish History at the University of Dundee, will be giving a talk based on his new book, ‘Pabay: An Island Odyssey’, at Scotland’s History Festival on Saturday 23 November, 4.30 – 5.30pm. This will take place at the French Institute in West Parliament Square, Edinburgh.

In 1950, Len and Margaret Whatley left Birmingham to live on the tiny uninhabited island of Pabay, a challenging move for which nothing could have prepared them. Christopher Whatley, their nephew, explores the history of this tiny island jewel to create a vivid picture of the trials, tribulations and joys of island life.
