Silent film programme with live musical accompaniment

An image of Steven Gellatly performing his music at a silent film screeningThe Centre for Critical and Creative Cultures presents an original live musical score performance by Steven Gellatly alongside a programme of specially selected silent films inspired by our film studies curriculum. The programme will be introduced by Dr Brian Hoyle. 

The introduction will begin at 5.45pm with the screenings starting at 6pm. The event will last for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Film studies students are strongly encouraged to attend. For further information please contact Dr Jennifer Barnes (j.a.barnes@dundee.ac.uk). 

About Steven Gellatly

Composer and silent film pianist, Steven has performed across Europe, from Sweden to London. He appears regularly in Scotland and this will be his third appearance at the University of Dundee. He has composed scores for films such as 'Foolish Wives', 'The Lodger', 'Son of the Sheik', 'Sunrise', 'The Magician' and various short films and documentaries, and recently appeared at the Hippodrome Silent Film Festival in Bo'ness.
