Student Nurse of the Year 2020

This award aims to recognise a final year student nurse, from any of the three fields, who has demonstrated excellence or exceptional achievement in academic or clinical ability. This includes an individual who displays excellence in the following:

  • competence and knowledge in their clinical skills
  • academic achievement
  • ability to act with care and compassion
  • interpersonal and communication skills with patients and their families

Inspirational Student Nurse of the Year 2020

This award aims to recognise any pre-registration student nurse who has inspired his/her peers or mentors in some way.  This includes individuals who have:

  • been instrumental in making a contribution to the School, their placement area, or other people in such a way to have evoked inspiration
  • overcome significant obstacles in their personal life in order to achieve success
  • worked with a charity, undertaken a particular project or been involved in innovation
  • accomplished something which makes them an inspirational role model
  • demonstrated outstanding nursing care on a specific occasion or throughout their programme
