SPSS may be used by both staff and students who meet these Licencing Agreement Terms and Conditions:

  1. You can only use the software if you are a member of teaching staff or an enrolled student
  2. The use of the software is restricted to academic purposes in connection with studies at University of Dundee
  3. Under no circumstances should the software be used for any work which can result in financial or commercial gain and/or benefits
  4. The software must not be installed on equipment belonging to the NHS or be used for NHS work

Use on personal machines is permitted for educational purposes and you need to authenticate with the University’s SPSS licence server using your @dundee.ac.uk email address.

Use Apps Anywhere for off-site access

SPSS for Windows is now available via Apps Anywhere, however you will need to be connected to the University VPN service to run it. If you are not connected, you will find the app loads, but with no menus and will show an error about not being able to connect to a licence server.
