Lachezar Vladimirov
What I like most about art is visually expressing concepts and stories through environments and characters, hence why I specialize in this area.
About
With my characters, I try to bring more personality and I always try to challenge myself by doing something new. Characters have always been something I liked doing from a young age, I enjoy creating characters for animation and games. My eye is always looking for details and the little fun things in a character, which is why this year I decided to focus more on costume design with my character Flora- which is actually a redesigned character from a famous 2000’s cartoon called “Winx Club”. What I was looking to achieve in this project was to design a character suitable for 3D, hence why I was able to add in all the detail I wanted to bring my vision to life.
Environment design is my second specialism and I have found to enjoy it a lot! I always learn new things with each layout as there is always challenges when it comes to designing a space. For me this is the perfect field to create in as I’ve always enjoyed architecture and interior designing and although this is a different art form I am still able to take inspiration from that passion of mine. I had a lot of fun designing the backgrounds for my main film project this year – “Fridge”. The project is pitched as a short film incorporating horror elements, it’s a very different story that brings awareness to the risks of online interactions with strangers. The atmosphere of the paintings is a bit cold and lonely, purposefully fitting with the narrative of the film.

This is the character design I did for the main character in our student film project "Fridge".
Flora Redesign
This is a character redesign I did of Flora from "Winx Club". With this character I wanted to show a wider range in my skills and design something that could be suitable for a 3D game or film.
