Museum of You is an exploration of alternative exhibition design and how it can be accessible for people who know absolutely nothing about exhibition design.

About

Museum of You is a kit which allows the user to explore exhibition design in a non-traditional and free-spirited sort of way. The kit has that punk attitude of the 1970’s London underground scene of “F*ck it! I’ll do it my way.”

The kit consists of scale models and figure, signage templates and an activity zine which takes the user step by step through the process of creating an exhibition.

I want to challenge the public’s perception what a museum is and how the traditions that they come with act as limitations to creativity. The aim of the kit is to facilitate users to create their very own alternative exhibition space which is catered to the story they want to tell.

It is an easy and accessible way for people to create an exhibition literally out of nothing other than cardboard boxes and their own boldness.

This image shows what the user will have in their kit.

Activity Zine, Step by step curation - step 1

This image shows the inside of the activity zine, it is a good demonstration of showing the style of the publication and also how easy it is to understand.

Packaging

A packaging layer being taken out of the box to show the next layer.

This image demonstrates how each layer of the box holds and displays each of the parts of the kit.
