The Five Principles - A competition brief set by the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) to create a named Interrogating the Truth, spoken by Jeffrey Boakye. My animation is a discussion of the five fundamental principles of social justice with the goal of including them in the curriculum. Using psychology I linked the shape, colour and principle as I wanted each frame of the animation to showcase the identity of each principle clearly and used a grey scale for non-important shapes.

Kinship Botanical Spirit - A brief set by Brand Opus, to create a drink brand based on a location. I chose to design Kinship a non-alcoholic spirit based on the folklore of the Isle of Skye. I designed each back label to be double-sided with each location shown in an ink drawing on parchment paper to give a historic look back on the island. I used transparent labels as the front labels to represent the crystal-clear water surrounding Skye.

Pass on Penguin - Personal brief in collaboration with Penguin. I designed a system that gives books a new home in every read. I created a belly band in the shape of a penguin's body, with the flippers wrapped around the book, creating the warmth and comfort a penguin book can give. It can be turned into a bookmark and then rewrapped to pass on. The QR code on the belly band takes the user to a website which has an e-passport to enter reviews and ratings. It also gives the user the opportunity to join in discussions and grow a community with other readers.

The Five Principles

An animation that discusses the five fundamental principles of social justice with the goal of including them in the curriculum. For a brighter and inclusive future for all. The five principles include: Access (circle), Equity (rectangle), Diversity (triangle), Participation (semi-circle) and Human Rights (square).

Multiple Images showing rectangles, squares, circles, semicircles and triangles on black and white background, the shapes make up images such as a hand, foot, record disk, factory and a map of western countries.

Stills from my RSA animation, showing the most prominent moments throughout the video

Kinship Botanical Spirit

The left picture is three bottles with green, blue and orange see-through labels. Above the green, there is a drawing of 2 pointy rocks which is the Man of Storr. The blue has a drawing of a castle and the orange has a bridge over a rocky river. The right image is one large bottle with a tale of the fairy flag and a smaller bottle with flowers and berries in a glass surrounding the two bottles. A scarf also surrounds the items.

A non alcoholic botanical spirit, aimed for adults who want to explore Scotland without alcohol. Each bottle is Infused with Rowan Blossom, and each having their own unique tale and flavour that balances each other out.

Pass on Penguin

There is a book with a penguin's body wrapped around the cover with a travel ticket design. On the back of the book the flippers of the penguin is hugging the book, fascinated with a custom washi tape. The back of the band has stamp designs which can be used as a bookmark. There is a QR code that links to a website for the design. On the right is a poster that has instructions and is promoting the product and the bag design has the hugging penguin flippers.

Personal project, Pass on Penguin is a service that gives readers a chance to build a community while also giving books a new home with every read. The QR code takes the user to a website mockup that allows the user to enter in reviews and communicate with other pass on penguin users.
