Jonathan Strömbom

I’m an actor at heart and with animation I am limited to nothing but my own imagination. What I adore in animation is that I can play a fantasy creature just at easily as I do a young child. With animation you can and that is what attracted me to it in the first place. 

I find enjoyment in brining characters to life in all types of animation. I think 2D and 3D both have much to offer and can provide their own versions of the same story. The artistic and technical challenges are both interesting and I love to be part in both when I work in programs such as TV Paint, Maya and Adobe animate. 

In my final year in university, I worked on the comical 3D film Kitchen Madness where I animated the main character into insanity. It was fun to face the technical challenges along with the fast-paced animation style. 

Besides my group work, I’ve worked on personal projects with a variety of characters to explore the personality, emotions, and movements of them all. Among them I also worked on vector based and hand drawn animation. My inspiration comes from other animators, actors, stage comedians, animals, and anything else that can bring character, realism, and imagination to the animation.
