About

Heather Bews-Ivins

As an artist I am inspired by the fine details life has to offer, and sometimes we miss it in this fast paced world we live on. I want to create a space and art pieces that represent the stillness of the present moment - along side pop culture, street culture and sci-fi love. By creating a living space for people to relax in to enjoy the impact of my work, instead of standing for seven seconds, looking and forgetting about my work. The space I created is there to give you a break, relax. I lost my boyfriend of four years to suicide at the beginning of university, and it is something I've struggled with over the years, however I believe it has impacted my work like no other occurrence. The terrible experience transformed the way I now look at things, viewing the world more accurately. I want people to enjoy my art as a reflection of themselves, how do you view the experience? 'A Reflection of Life' is the title. The only meaning behind the work is what you receive, whether that be a good or bad. You don't have to like it, that is yours.

This space is my healing, with everything I enjoy - music, film, sci-fi games/visuals, low light, nature, interior/sculpture, colour, line, texture and being present. The graphic paintings are inspired by timeless reflections that have came to me, sometimes only once, capturing the meaning of life.
We are here only once.

Five Thirty-Two

Dark background with three stripes in yellow, blue and yellow and a light green triangle under the first yellow stripe and a red oblong above the same stripe

A shadow development that came to me at 5:32am. Are you feeling French? Burning out? Overcrowded or healing?

Dots of Tantalus

Hand cut dots in several colours on top of a grey table in several rows

A collage of hand cut dots representing sci-fi space, vinyl and the main impact materialistic things have on us - yet so intricate and under appreciated. The beauty of line, colour and texture. Including old art pieces.

Live Transmission Night Two

Graphic poster in red with yellow text showing red, black and white photos of a band

Graphic work I have been working alongside with Dukes Corner every month.

I am currently taking commissions through bewsyy@gmail.com

whether that be painting, graphic design or music. A website is in the making for people to find my work but all pieces are shown on my instagram account. SOLD will be underneath in the mean time.
