The Travelling Crafter aims to encourage more people into a non-gendered crafting experience by providing users with a portable leather crafting station. By making a portable crafting station, this will allow users to create on their commute to and from work after research showed there was a lot of ‘dead time’ in train commuting. This will encourage a wide range of people to take up crafting and slowly dismantle the assumption that crafting is feminine by introducing them to crafting through leather.

Along with the Travel Box there is also a Home Box to house tools and materials which the user can switch out between the Travel and Home boxes. The users will also be supplied with a instruction manual which breaks up steps of the craft in digestible and clear instructions by providing visual and written explanations of the steps. In the Instruction Manual there are pages showing tools with the tool names and how to perform stitches, this gives the users a full learning experience while making.
