About
My work takes heavy inspiration from cartoons I grew up watching, and still watch now. Scooby Doo, Ed, Edd n Eddy and the Amazing World of Gumball are just a few of my favourites. I try to create characters that tell stories through their visuals alone, that audiences can sympathise with, relate to, and want to know more about! This inspiration can be seen in my animations; I enjoy making the viewer laugh, be that by exaggerating a character’s expression, pose, or simply adding lots of squash and stretch!
During my studies I have worked as a character designer and animator on ‘The Call’ for the Dingle Animation Festival, which went on to win the award for ‘Best Sting’. I have also worked as a character designer and 2D character animator on our final graduate film, ‘Chaos’. I was in charge of designing the character of Chaos and have animated every shot of him in the final film. It was nice to bring Chaos to life, from an initial sketch all the way through to final animation. Chaos is a character that will always hold a special place in my heart!
