About

Profile photo of Claire Fallon

Claire crafts contemporary silverware and jewellery, with an emphasis on the preservation of traditional skills, through the storytelling that a piece can embody – evoking fond and tranquil memories of walks along the beaches in Scotland.

Influenced by the ethics of the Arts & Crafts Movement, Claire’s work has strong values in materiality and the importance of the making process. Combining natural elements such as driftwood, jute, seaweed, and pearls together with shimmering polished silver to create a utilitarian aesthetic. Employing traditional skills such as forging, casting and hand raising using hammers and steel stakes to move the metal emphasises the importance and value of working at a human pace. These works have a quiet and understated beauty that will be treasured for a long time.
