Ben Coupland

Throughout my time at Duncan of Jordanstone, I have had the pleasure of working on multiple productions as a background and layout artist, compositor, production coordinator, sound designer, and 2d effects animator. Working on productions such as 'The Wish', 'Bus, Stop!', 'Kitchen Madness', 'A Pangolins Tale', 'Chaos', and my main production 'Starcrossing'. My work on these projects has helped me develop my skills as a team player, and given me a strong understanding of working in a pipeline.

In my additional projects such as 'Solbound' I took the time to explore my composition, painting and compositing skills setting myself the challenge of creating memorable shots using atmosphere and shape language. I also began work on a project with my peers by the name of 'Wulver', a folklore-oriented animated project. I also took part in a group project directed by Jo Helly titled 'Chipper', where we developed a pitch and storyboard for a potential short film.

I am passionate about projects that incorporate music, folklore, airy visuals, shiny things, and fantasy!
