Joining DJCAD in my foundation year, I was unsure of which direction to head in. However, I was drawn to graphic design for its structured yet flexible nature which allowed me to pursue valuable projects which are also applicable to personal work outside of university. These projects have allowed me to learn and refine skills in theory and in practice as a designer.

“Penguin Ambience” aims to enhance the reading experience through a range of bespoke and immersive products.
The brief set by D&AD calls for a new brand identity aimed towards Gen-Z readers by enhancing the traditional reading experience. The brand identity and products convey the values of accessibility, sustainability and relatability – building upon core Penguin values. With sustainability in mind, each product has dual functions and is manufactured from paper allowing for minimum environmental impact.

For the 2023 ISTD brief “Mapping the World,” I created the Strata. The publication explores a nuanced view of cities and human infrastructure not as a vertical, two-dimensional area but as a lateral, three-dimensional volume. Starting from the highest satellites to the deepest mines, this perspective allows the reader to discover and recontextualise our understanding of cities and ultimately reflects on our wider historical and environmental impact.
