A fun way to navigate around town
My project "Naviwheel" is about making the act of exploring the city into a fun activity. It’s also about finding places from a different perspective and without overly generous expectations.
It pushes the question of why we go where we do, and if we know ourselves well enough to actually know what we want the most. People always have reasons to hate places, regardless of how good, or bad, the said place is.
If you were told a negative feature of a place, but didn’t know where it was for, you would paint a dramatised version in your head. However, when seeing the real place you will unconsciously compare the place with your imaginary version.
Users select walking time and 1 of 5 categories "Food, Drink, Shop, View, Walk", which then bring up prompts for appropriate places within the area. Upon selecting a prompt and pressing "Start", Naviwheel then uses vibrations as a way to guide users towards their unknown selected place in a "Hot or Cold" type of situation.
