Jaclyn Suttie is a Solicitor in the Legal Team with responsibilities to manage legal risks on behalf of the University. Jaclyn has a particular focus in providing advice in relation to compliance with the University’s processes and procedures as well as general contractual issues.
Jaclyn is a qualified solicitor and a member of the Law Society of Scotland. She is also a Notary Public.
Jaclyn joined the University of Dundee Legal team in November 2018 after working for a national regulatory body where she gained considerable experience of regulatory enforcement. Jaclyn was responsible for investigating and prosecuting cases relating to compliance with the professional code of conduct including fitness to practise issues. She provided oversight and management of cases, setting the direction and strategy for cases and making procedural decisions taking into account the details of the case and the bigger picture. In addition to case work, as part of the regulatory enforcement team, she helped shape training and enforcement policy and practice at the regulator.
After studying at the University of Dundee, Jaclyn completed her traineeship at Thorntons; working subsequently in commercial law firms in Tayside. Jaclyn is an experienced court practitioner with a commercial approach who is always thoroughly prepared and has superb attention to detail.
