Biography

Dawn Ingham is PA to Professor Karl Leydecker, Vice-Principal for Learning and Teaching.

In addition, she is a BT Change Champion and Trainer with OPD.

She joined the University in 2010 and has previously been PA to Professor Nigel Pitts in DHSRU and Office Manager in the School of Life Sciences Learning & Teaching.

Dawn has admin and management experience in both the public and private sectors. Key moments in her career prior to joining the University include:

  • Avoiding a lift shaft building crisis as a result of observational skills during an early site visit;
  • Managing a property portfolio of 13 national offices;
  • Introducing systems and procedures for office services, HR and H&S, and training directors and staff in managing those systems;
  • Client Project Manager for delivery of the £12.5m headquarters building for a financial investment firm in Dundee.

Dawn loves baking, particularly designing and creating bespoke cakes for family and friends, and she’s interested in art, design and art history.

Key Responsibilities

Dawn provides executive support to Professor Karl Leydecker, Vice-Principal for Learning and Teaching.

She provides high level administrative support to the University Management Group, the Learning & Teaching Spaces Sub-Committee, and the Digital Strategy Committee.

Between November and May each year Dawn co-ordinates the National Student Survey (NSS) submission and then circulation of the results across the University.

Dawn is a mentor through the Mentorship Programme, has provided training for the OPD programme, and is looking forward to delivering more training workshops. She is also a member of the Staff Council Standing Committee.

Coaching Skills: Rowan Certificate in Coaching Skills

Project Management: APMP (equivalent to IPMA Level D)

HR: CIPD Certificate in Personnel Practice (Distinction)

H&S: CIEH Basic Health & Safety Certificate
