Travellers (and their School/Directorate) are responsible for making sure that reasonable consideration (and preparation) is given to health matters in advance of departure.

The University's policy is invalid where travel is undertaken against the advice of a medical practitioner or when a known 'pre-condition' is not disclosed before departure.

Healthcare advice is available from the following websites:-

  • Directgov
  • NHS Choices
  • National Travel Health Network and Centre (NaTHNaC)
  • N.B. Those with a continuing health condition who expect to travel relatively frequently are advised to seek a written medical opinion on their fitness to travel valid for a set period of time (subject of course, to no deterioration of a condition)
