Public Engagement and Major Events
We deliver an exciting range of engagement activities from distinguished lectures with international reach to local community projects. We engage with everyone from influencers and policymakers to potential students, the general public and our own University community of staff and students.
The public engagement team, Jon and Shabnam, run key central activities such as Discovery Days, Bright Club, Arts Café and Café Science, which showcase research from across the University. They provide advice and training for academic staff looking to engage with the public, and lead on the University’s community engagement programme with local partners.
The major events team, Peter and Aileen, run the University’s flagship events such as Saturday Evening Lectures, royal visits, graduation celebrations and other high-profile visits and talks. They provide advice and support to staff and students running public events and have created a step-by-step events guide to help you run a successful event.
Festival of the Future
Festival of the Future is a brilliant new festival that brings together culture and science through performances, talks, workshops and more. This year's festival will take place from 13-17 October 2021 so keep an eye out for details of all the super events coming soon.
Emma leads on cultural projects for the team, working not just across the University but also across the city with partners such as Leisure & Culture Dundee, V&A Dundee and Creative Dundee. Get in touch to find out how you can get involved and help us put Dundee firmly on the world map.
