Event
“Trypanosome cell signalling in the absence of transcriptional control”
Monday 29 May 2023
BBCD Seminar by Dr Mick Urbaniak Department: Biomedical And Life Sciences University of Lancaster
Host: Prof Mike Ferguson
Venue: Discovery Centre, CTIR 2.84, Sir Kenneth & Lady Noreen Murray Seminar Room.
Mick’s laboratory uses a combination of genetics, cell biology and proteomics approaches to understand biological systems at the molecular level. His research is focused on tropical infectious diseases, primarily the clinically relevant parasite Trypanosoma brucei and related species such as Leishmania. His team are studying how the parasites are able to sense and respond to their host environment, and they aim to translate the results of this basic research into early-stage drug discovery.
