Bio:
Tim Miles is the Portfolio Leader for Unmet need and AMR at GSK´s Global Health Unit in Spain. Tim obtained a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Oxford, UK and joined GSK as a medicinal chemist in 2003. Tim spent the first 8 years working on antibacterials, leading to the discovery of Gepotidacin in the UK. Then moved to Spain working on Kinetoplastid delivering new pre-clinical candidates for visceral leishmaniasis and building a world leading portfolio for Chagas disease in collaboration with Drug Discovery Unit in Dundee University funded by Wellcome. This successful collaboration also works alongside other key collaborators like Drug for Neglected Disease initiative, University of Washington, members of Wellcome´s HIT NTD hub and Tres Cantos OpenLab Foundation to further research in neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).
