Discover which beasties lurk beneath the waters of the Botanic Garden ponds, try to identify them and find out why they're there. The two man-made ponds draw their water from the same inlet at the top of the Garden, the Ninewells Spring. The water drains under gravity from the spring to the separate ponds and slowly out to the Tay. The ponds provide a natural habit for a wealth of organisms including marginal plants, fish and amphibians, macro-invertebrates and a range of microscopic species. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear.
