ASIST Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

The workshop is held over two days - from 9am -5pm - you must be able to attend both full days.

Please do not apply unless you can commit for the entire time both days.

This workshop is only for students and staff of University of Dundee – there are a limited number of places available.

Participants must be ready and able to take an active part in the training, including skills practice, and take into account the emotive nature of the subject matter.

By the end of this course participants will be able to: • Recognise invitations for help. • Reach out and offer support • Review the risk of suicide • Apply a suicide intervention model • Link people with community resources ASIST is valuable training for anyone in the community.

You do not need to have professional experience or a professional qualification to attend the course. NHS endorsed. This course is provided at no cost to participants by Student Services University of Dundee and Choose Life (NHS Scotland). Participants who complete the training will be given a certificate.
