ASIST Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

The workshop is held over two days - from 9am -5pm - you must be able to attend both full days.

This workshop is for students and staff. Participants must be ready and able to take an active part in the training, including skills practice, and take into account the emotive nature of the subject matter.

By the end of this course participants will be able to:

Recognise invitations for help.

Reach out and offer support

Review the risk of suicide

Apply a suicide intervention model

Link people with community resources

ASIST is valuable training for anyone in the community. You do not need to have professional experience or a professional qualification to attend the course. This course is provided at no cost to participants by Student Services University of Dundee and Choose Life (NHS Scotland).

Participants who complete the training will be given a certificate. Places are limited.
