Annual Research and Scholarship Conference 2018
Knowledge and Practice: What matters now?
Contemporary discourses on knowledge continue to highlight the “two-world pitfall” of -knowledge and -practice. Taken from an academic perspective, the university and the field categorizations can be helpful for the purpose of analysis and writing (Pearson, 2016; Zeichner, 2010; Dunne, 2003; Neiman-Nemser & Buchmann, 1985). The question of whether or not this demarcation continues to be helpful is the theme of this annual meeting.
It is hoped that presentations at this conference will emphasize historical and contemporary articulations of knowledge and practice and also what might matter now to the profession in a post-truth era. We also invite scholarship on the status of research knowledge, epistemic communities, and the academic practitioner.
