 'An Introduction to Design-led business innovation' - Alasdair McGill, founder, Ashton McGill

Alasdair McGill is  the Founder of Ashton McGill, a Dundee-based Design and Innovation company, specialising in Customer Experience. After qualifying as an accountant with EY in 1992, Alasdair has spent 25 years starting, growing and running businesses in a variety of industries. He is currently the Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Dundee, and was recently named as one of Scotland's top ten digital disruptors.  

If you have a business or business idea and would like to understand more about how to take a design-led approach for what you do, this is an ideal workshop for you.‌  ‌

'Social Enterprise: People, Profit and Pay-off' - Kirsty Thomson, Founder/Managing Director, ACK & Founder & CEO The Circle

With 20 years of experience in the voluntary sector, Kirsty has secured funding in excess of £12 million for organisations across the UK. Kirsty runs two social enterprises: Along Came Kirsty CIC (ACK) and The Circle Scotland CIC (The Circle). She knows just how difficult it can be to achieve your goals in this economic climate. Kirsty uses this experience to support her clients to be successful and to provide affordable accommodation space to make things happen for the local community.

'Play, Jam & Collaboration' - Malath Abbas, Biome Collective

Biome Collective is a diverse, inclusive melting pot of technology, art and culture for people who want to create, collaborate and explore games, digital art and technology. The Dundee-based collective is the first of its kind in Scotland. It provides access to space and support for professionals, organisations and graduates working in the interactive digital sphere. Biome Collective is made up of an ever-expanding range of disciplines, from design and art to business and technology. It's creating a culture of collaboration beyond the traditional game sector by fostering local and international relationships and creating original and unique IP. 

If you are wondering how game design and play can be used for creative solutions, this is the workshop for you. Malath will cover a range of examples and give people the chance to come up with their own playful ideas in response to real settings or issues to tackle.
