Event open to students, staff, alumni and the general public.
About this virtual event...
Johanna is an illustrator and ink evangelist who “prefers pens and pencils to pixels.” Her mission is to inspire the world to put down technology for a while to pick up a pen or pencil and get creative. Johanna creates all her work by hand; first drawing it using pencil and then redrawing it in ink. She loves creating intricate details within her work which give an interesting depth to her work.
Johanna graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design in 2005 with a degree in Textile Design. Following graduation, she interned whilst setting up her own studio where she produced hand-printed wallpaper and small home accessories. When the recession hit, Johanna realised her passion was not in manufacturing and selling, it was in drawing.
Johanna shut her studio and decided to set up as a freelance illustrator working out of her 1 bedroom flat alongside two part time jobs! In the lecture, Johanna will discuss how she took a chance on pitching a new idea for colouring books which completely changed her life.
Did we mention she is a Guinness World Record Holder?
Attendance to the Annual Public Lecture in Entrepreneurship is free but places must be booked in advance online here. Link will be sent our 24hours before the event.
This event is part of a series of virtual events organised for Entrepreneurship Week 2021.
