Gender, Culture and Society (MLitt)
An interdisciplinary programme which will enable you to understand how gender identities were constructed in historical, social and cultural contexts, and introduce you to a range of research skills and methodologies. Applications are not currently being accepted for this programme.
A highly flexible, interdisciplinary research preparation masters, which allows you to select modules from across the entire School of Humanities, so you can tailor the degree to your own particular interests.
Specialist interdisciplinary study within Philosophy and English Studies which brings together modules addressing the interrelations between literary practice and philosophical perspectives.
How we're rated
We are rated 'Excellent' for teaching and scored highly in the latest (2008) Research Assessment Exercise. A full 90% of English's research publications between 2001 and 2007 were rated as of international excellence in terms of their 'originality, significance and rigour' and 45% of our research output was rated in the two very highest categories of 'international excellence'.
