LGBT+ History Month

The University of Dundee will celebrate LGBT+ History Month with a series of events and activities in February 2024, programmed by members of our LGBT+ Staff Network.

We recognise that there are significant challenges facing the LGBT+ community in academia, and we want to drive that change. With talks and lectures looking at history, mental health, queering our museum collections, and more, we want to showcase the breadth of talent amongst our family. LGBT+ History Month is just one chance for us to hear and learn from LGBT+ stories.

We have a very active student society and a busy staff and postgraduate network. If you want to find out more, connect with us on X (formerly Twitter) or Facebook or, for staff, search for us on Microsoft Teams.

Library highlights LGBT+ books available

For LGBT+ History month. The LLC is hosting a display of books to highlight some of the material available to staff and students. There’s more material on LGBTQ+ histories of identities available online via Library Search, in books, journal articles, and databases across all subjects.

The titles can be viewed on the Recommend a Resource Libguide as well as below.

If there’s a title or author you think should be represented in our collections, contact morebooks@dundee.ac.uk with the details.
