Biography

Andrea holds a Lecturer position in Social Digital at DJCAD, College of Art, Science & Engineering (CASE), University of Dundee.

In Dundee, he is lecturer for studio-based courses that focus with User-Centred Design, and Participatory Design methods for the design of novel digital technology.

His primary research interest is in Human-Computer Interaction and Interaction Design, in particular the design of systems and user interfaces (e.g. through user-centred design and participatory design) for therapy and educational interventions of children and also for end-user participation in the Internet of Things. Beside these interests, he also runs research on prototyping methods and physical computing.

He has a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Technologies from the University of Florence, Italy (2010). Previously, Andrea has also been a junior researcher at IRST - Fondazione Bruno Kessler (Italy), and Post-doc at the University of Siena (Italy). He has got a Master in Interaction Design (MSc) at the University of Siena. He graduated in Communication Science (BSc) at the same university in 2005. Andrea has during the last nine years participated in a number of research projects both at national and European level.
