Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014
REF 2014 assessed research in Higher Education Institutions across the United Kingdom.
The REF graded institutions on the quality of their outputs, their research environment and – for the first time – the impact their work has on society.
Duncan of Jordanstone performed excellently across all areas, featuring among the top 10 institutions in the UK for art and design research and first in Scotland for world-leading research.
We also had highest number of 4-star impacts in Scotland and the highest graded research environment of all Scottish art and design institutions.
