DJCAD Graduate Kirsten Manzi to launch new jewellery collection
Published on Thu 7 Sep 2017
DJCAD jewellery & metal design graduate Kirsten Manzi will launch her new jewellery collection, ‘Balance’ on Saturday September 16th with an exclusive event at Flamingosaurus Rex: a dynamic, multi-functional art gallery and boutique, situated in the Bruntsfield area of Edinburgh.
It features a range of pieces designed to mix and match including a series of necklaces, bold brooches as well as unique cufflinks and earrings. The minimal designs focus on quality craftsmanship and subtle details creating timeless, understated pieces for every occasion.
Kirsten graduated in 2013 and spent some of her time studying SUNY New Paltz, New York which inspired her final year work, displayed at her Degree Show.
She said, “DJCAD has amazing facilities in all of the departments and I would encourage students to explore everything that is available to them, even outside of their own discipline. This a great time to play and experiment as a creative. I was also lucky enough to take part in the exchange programme, it was an amazing opportunity and can't recommend it enough.”
The debut of the jewellery collection will take place on Saturday 16 September at Flamingosaurus Rex, 22 Bruntsfield Place, Edinburgh 6pm-9pm with an evening of food, drinks, music and of course jewellery.
The collection reflects Kirsten’s interest in architecture and consists of sleek, structural silver pieces.
She added, “I was inspired by the round topped windows, smooth curves and strong angles of the architecture. My new collection focuses on bold curves and strong lines resulting in delicate yet striking forms.”
The ‘Balance’ collection will be available to buy at Flamingosaurus Rex and through Kirsten’s new website www.kirstenmanzi.co.uk from 16th September.
