I have entered into a landscape with the simple act of just looking. Not an idle claim, but celebrating the almost basic desire of contemplation. Looking as performance. Make a compass, carved from the Caledonian pine forest. Collect water from nine rivers magnetically positioned across the great Cairngorm range. Fill the compass with the waters and accept that they will indicate the locations. Erect the portable observatory at each station. Enter. Observe. Look. Notice. Perceive. Behold. And lie in the “dark room”, between the clouds and the rivers.
