Disability Services provides a range of services for disabled students and staff. We also support all University staff in the provision of an inclusive learning and working environment. Our services include:
Needs Assessment - assessment of the individual support needs of disabled students and staff
Dyslexia Service - free screening and full diagnostic assessment for dyslexia (staff may need to contribute to the cost)
Mental Health Mentoring - for students experiencing ongoing difficulties due to mental health issues
Non Medical Personal Help - including arranging note-takers, proof readers and specialist help such as sign language interpreters
Loan Equipment - including laptops and digital recorders
Assistive Technology Service - assistive software available on campus and free to download, and 1-1 training on assistive technology
Staff Development - training on a range of disability-related issues, including supporting students with specific impairments
Alternative Formats Service - expert advice on creating accessible documents and a conversion service for teaching/publicity material
