I am an illustrator and designer based in Glasgow, Scotland. My work is all about abstraction and I enjoy playing with simple shapes to tell visual stories. My largest final year project has been Wilson Strange - an illustrated storybook about a man who feels he cannot control his brain. The book explores the connection between creativity and mental health. Whilst bringing Wilson Strange to life, I experimented with a range of 2D and 3D image making techniques to show him exploring the depths of his imagination. A series of love poem illustrations I created made the shortlist for the Book Illustration Competition 2020 run by the Folio Society and House of Illustration. Other competitions I have entered include a candle packaging YCN brief set by Oliver Bonas and Fedrigoni. I also illustrated the cover of Goodnight Mister Tom for Penguin’s Student Design Competition. Most recently I have been working on a project called Headless Heights which is inspired by nature and it’s ability to help ease stress and anxiety. The collection of prints, postcards and illustrated GIFs are intended to be sent and shared to spread positivity during times of isolation.
