Emma Smith

I have always had a passion for drawing and storytelling. I love bringing stories and characters to life through the art of animation. During my time at Duncan of Jordanstone I have focused my studies on 2D animation, storyboarding and visual development art. The biggest influences on my work have been Disney's classic hand-drawn animation, character artist and illustrator Lois van Baarle and animator Aaron Blaise. My work focuses on bringing characters to life, sometimes literally by making them move and at other times through successful design. Character and story are both central to my work and I am constantly striving to improve my skills in portraying these to an audience through my art.
