Illustration

Eric Kons

My work consists mostly of pencil and ink drawings, that are easily translated into printmaking with methods such as waterless lithography and risograph printing. I like to experiment with texture and mark-making, often creating images that are quite busy. A lot of my drawings are crowded messes that have to be explored slowly and carefully. Additionally, I enjoy making toy theatres as they allow for playfulness with narrative and illustration on a small scale. The image shows a detail of a much larger waterless lithograph print. The lithograph depicts a conflict between humans and anthropomorphic rhinoceros. The project was based on the abusive relationship between humans and other species.
