Fine Art

Sam Renson

Predominantly an oil painter, my work is influenced through the exploration of the Scottish landscape, as a form of escapism. My paintings do not directly depict the landscape in a traditional sense, but take on abstract forms which focus on colour, texture and creation of atmosphere. The initial stages of each piece have a certain unpredictable element which allows the paint to flow naturally and unrestricted. This process in turn triggers further memories and allows the development of my pieces into their final form.
