Fine Art

Malin Simensen

For my degree show work, my focus is on the landscape and the feelings that it conveys through the weather, light and environment. My motifs with fjords, mountains and ocean, are inspired from the surroundings of the coastal fishing-town of Ålesund and the region of Sunnmøre in west-Norway, where I grew up. Today, most things – including nature, seems to be put into an ideal of the clean, the aesthetically pleasing and the behaving. Personally, the fog, the dirty, the harsh, raw and the dramatic feelings and moods of the nature is what’s so fascinating and real about nature.
