Fine Art

Lucia Pearla

My expressive mark makings stem from intuitive thoughts that play around in my head, these thoughts are triggered by my surroundings and memories. My inspiration transcends from colours, interiors, even pop culture references such film sets. I use my paintings as a form of escapism and a way to create a free space to help encourage impulsive creative freedom that I don’t otherwise find in my own reality, this act of creation helps trigger the idea of no limits within my chosen medium of paint. My practise centres around layering a combination of all paint types, Oil is my dominating medium. The act of removing paint through sanding or white spirit is as important as the act of adding to an image. Although my paintings are a process of experimentation they hold a distinctive style creating recognition towards my work.
