Dismantled forms or conventions reveal their constituent parts, and as expected, paintings become objects of wood, paint then varnish. A body is a building with skeleton, meat, skin. Replace a layer or two out of order. Suggest quilts lie under bed frames with a mattress still on top. Ruffle feathers further; conflate the broken piles. Attend two nearby weddings and switch the middle layers of their cakes. Or just take photographs like we used to. As much comes from duplicates as exploded views or socks after shoes. Pin a picture to the person in it, or send a scan in the envelope it's of.
