Fine Art

Courtney Szabo

I am an abstract painter working with water-based medium. My work consists mainly of large-scale pieces on paper and board. I work on a scale that allows me to experiment with the paint and the way in which it moves in its own way as well as allowing room to express myself through gestural mark making. The focus in my works is the paint itself and keeping the process as natural as possible. The leading inspirations behind my work are various landscapes and water. I love the outdoors and bodies of water and so the purity of the paint flowing and moving freely is very important to the work. My works are non-representational and are created whilst visualising the environment which inspires me, the outcome being gestural, expressive works.
