Boyd Cunningham

Over the course of my final year I have taken on a range of projects, ‘Ping Pong’ was my response to D&AD brief that asked me to reimagine an old forgotten game for a new audience/generation. I created a game that tests your memory by putting it up against that of your friends (opponents). This was influenced by the 1978 game 'Simon' with its ever growing sequences players had to follow. I also undertook an RSA brief that focused on improving poor sleep for a chosen demographic. I came up with a product that would reduce an individuals brain activity by getting them to retract from technological devices, whilst simultaneously stimulating their human senses to put them into a relaxed state ready for sleep. My last project was a typographic publication produced for International Society of Typographic Designers, exploring the anniversary of ‘The Day The Music Died’ which saw the death of the late Rock and Roll stars Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper during their 1959 tour across northwest America.
