Touching WW1 with Longhaugh Primary School

Archive staff had a very successful morning with P7 pupils at Longhaugh PS. The pupils have spent several weeks learning about and investigating WW1, but hadn’t had the opportunity to use primary source material – to handle and learn from letters, journals and photographs of those who had experienced the war. Zoology Museum & Music on Light Night

The D’Arcy Thompson Zoology Museum will be open to the public this Friday 9-10pm as part of Dundee’s Christmas Light Night. This year we’ll also be providing a musical interpretation of D’Arcy’s work by playing a recording of 'The Road in its Unfoldings', a meta-passacaglia for wind symphony composed in 1996-7 by Joseph Klein, Distinguished Teaching Professor at the University of North Texas College of Music. A short introductory online course in outreach and education will be available in January from the Centre for Archive and Information Studies (CAIS) at the University of Dundee.
