Biography

Peter Roberts is an experienced upstream energy projects (oil and gas and renewables) lawyer, specialising in project structuring, project development, M&A, construction, procurement and operations contracts.

He is a partner with the law firm Ashurst LLP, based in London. Prior to joining Ashurst, Peter was the General Counsel for Centrica Energy, with a focus on UK renewable energy projects.

He has previously worked for other leading law firms in London, Hong Kong and Singapore and is the author of two leading energy sector textbooks ('Gas Sales and Gas Transportation Agreements' (published by Sweet and Maxwell, second edition published in October 2008; third edition due September 2011) and 'Joint Operating Agreements: A Practical Guide' (published by Globe in January 2010)).

Peter is a past general editor of the International Energy Law Review (IELR), published by Sweet and Maxwell, and is presently the general editor of the AIPN's Journal of World Energy Law and Business (JWELB), published by the Oxford University Press.
