Dr. Margot Loudon received a PhD in Humanities in 1983 from the University of London. After working with British Steel, and the Nationalised Industries Chairmen’s Group, she began her career with the gas industry in the capacity of Financial Analyst with British Gas plc. She was seconded by British Gas to Brussels in 1986, where she worked in the Secretariat of Comité d’Etudes Economiques Gaz. Dr. Loudon was appointed in 1990 Deputy Secretary General of Eurogas, then the organization representing integrated gas sector interests and continued in this role, when Eurogas unbundled its network interests to focus mainly on wholesale and retail supply questions. Dr. Loudon’s principal responsibilities concerned the internal energy market and related issues. Since January 2018, Dr. Loudon works as an independent consultant.
